Operation Hulkout: Day 732

SLA, Day A, Workout 2

The first week of StrongLifts Advanced was pretty easy. Based on this afternoon's workout, this second week's going to be interesting. I can only imagine how next week will be like. (Shivers.)

Operation Hulkout: Day 731

SLA, Day C, Workout 1

Yesterday's workout was fun since the poundages were all manageable though I had a bit of trouble with the Turkish get-ups thanks to my knees.

Operation Hulkout: Day 730

SLA, Day B, Workout 1

Apparently I haven't been getting the most out of my workouts whenever I go to the gym hungry. This morning's workout was noticeably different from some of the previous ones I've done the past month since I felt quite sated from last night's carbo-packed cheat meal. The loads weren't that heavy compared to Monday's, nonetheless, I did feel stronger than I did 2 days ago.

SLA, Day A, Workout 1

Gonna have to buy another pair of long gym pants so I don't scratch up my shins and knees from doing Deadlifts and Power cleans. I had to retire a couple of pairs since they were way too big for me.

Operation Hulkout: Day 728

I rounded out last week with Shoulder presses and Power cleans. Hope I got enough rest since I'll be starting StrongLifts Advance this afternoon.

Operation Hulkout: Day 727

Today I worked on primarily my Bench Press and Pull-ups. Didn't want to aggravate my right knee by doing lower body exercises.

Operation Hulkout: Day 726

Looks like I'll be taking it easy for the rest of the week to give me time to fix up my Power cleans and other exercises I'll be doing for StrongLifts Advanced.

Operation Hulkout: Day 725

SLI, Day B, Workout 9

What a big difference resting an extra day made as I not only squatted twice my current body weight of 153lbs. for 2 sets, I also reached my goal of squatting 314lbs. I started where I left off on Wednesday and progressively added 5lbs. after every set.
I can say doing this was a lot easier when I was over 200lbs., but I don't think I've ever gone as deep with the same poundages as I did this morning.

I'm switching to StrongLifts Advanced next week, but I'll be scaling things back a bit. I'll probably even take Monday to deload.

Operation Hulkout: Day 724

SLI, Day A, Workout 9

This entry was supposed to have been for Wednesday, 09-09-09, when I did my 9th Day A workout, but though the spirit wanted to do it that night, the body said nein. At least I was able to progress ever so slightly with the Squats, and I'm this close to squatting twice my body weight (again).

This entry also, would have been for today, Friday, but on
Wednesday evening my right knee started feeling a bit weird which continued to this morning when I woke up. Though it wasn't as strange as it when it started, I thought it best to push my workout to tomorrow to give my knee an extra day to rest up.

Operation Hulkout: Day 723

SLI, Day B, Workout 8

Definitely hit one of my limits since I couldn't manage heavy Squats and Deadlifts on the same day. Maybe I took to much time resting in between Squat sets, but I wanted to be confident my core could handle the weight, and by the time I had to do Deadlifts, it couldn't.

Operation Hulkout: Day 722

SLI, Day A, Workout 8

If yesterday's workout was any indication, I started to hit my limits in a number of exercises. The Squats turned out OK, but I had to really rest to psych myself up for each succeeding set. Trying to stick to the 2-count pauses at the Bench presses became too difficult after the 3rd set although I reached my target weight. And since I wasn't confident about doing Dips, I switched to 1-arm push-ups but out of time to do my abs afterwards.

I'll most likely move on to StrongLifts Advanced the week after next.

Operation Hulkout: Day 721

SLI, Day B, Workout 7

Today, Sept. 2, is my fourth anniversary, and it's interesting how my priorities have changed since the beginning and kinda shocking how I've changed in just a year's time. Strength training and cardio had compacted my body, and the 45lbs. weight drop from last year sapped a lot of my strength.
