Operation Hulkout: Day 745SLA, Day B, Workout 6 Deadlifts are coming along pretty well since I've learned how to set up for the exercise without the gut that allowed me to lift much heavier before. Still working towards to what I used to do, but I'll take my time getting there. Operation Hulkout: Day 744 SLA, Day A, Workout 6 I need to be very vigilant with my back again now that I'm moving up with my Squats again, and while I also need to make sure I can hit at least parallel, there's no question I'll be prioritizing the former over the latter. Operation Hulkout: Day 743 SLA, Day C, Workout 5 Since yesterday was a Sunday and I got more rest that I would've after a weekday workout, I took a chance and finished up my last deload day this morning, which, for the most part, went OK, but there's a reason why it's not recommended to do SL workouts on consecutive days. Operation Hulkout: Day 742 SLA, Day B, Workout 5 Well, that was a week I rather not have wasted recovering from an non-muscular/skeletal/neurological injury, but as the saying goes, "Better to be safe...." What's important is that I'm back at the gym albeit somewhat lighter again, and I'm going tweak my schedule a bit to make up for lost time. Operation Hulkout: Day 741 SLA, Day A, Workout 5 I'm halfway through SLA, and I'll mostly be deloading this week as I'm going to take a chance and push up my Squats by a notch. The slight increase in strength seems to correlate with my added weight, which jumped quite a bit. Wish I could say most of it's from muscle, but knowing my body, at least half of it's got to be from fat/water, but it's safer that I have more fuel in my system than less while I'm bulking. Operation Hulkout: Day 740 SLA, Day C, Workout 4 My confidence in my Bench presses isn't what it used to be. I was lot more gung-ho about them before, but then again, I was tired after doing 2.15 times my current bodyweight for the last Squat set. My abs really took a beating there. Probably if I started the session with my chest I'd have done better. Operation Hulkout: Day 739SLA, Day B, Workout 4 Kinda glad today's the last 5x5 Deadlifts I'll have to do in a while. Ever since I twinged my back last January I've been rather wary of the exercise. Operation Hulkout: Day 738 SLA, Day A, Workout 4 Finally getting the hang of activating my core for heavier Squats. Still need to work on the technique for Deadlifts. Operation Hulkout: Day 737 SLA, Day C, Workout 3 I know I've squatted 314lbs. a month ago, but instead of resetting the weights back down as prescribed by SLA, this time I'll be continuing in 300lbs. territory. I've one more week in the Volume phase to go before taking a week to deload and going for the 4-week Intensity phase. Operation Hulkout: Day 736 SLA, Day B, Workout 3 Was worried when I woke up with a slight cold yesterday morning that it would affect my workout, but after my warm-up sets, it thankfully went away and hasn't come back since. Part of my worry was because I needed all the strength I could muster for my workouts, which had started to get really intense this week. It took 2 days for the muscle soreness from Sunday's workout to abate, and last night I was all ready to hit the hay as early as 9pm. On the other hand, I can tell from the way my pants have been fitting that I'm getting bigger again. Waistline is still under control, but it'll have to get thicker for the weights I want to lift. Operation Hulkout: Day 735 SLA, Day A, Workout 3 I'm almost back to where I left off with how heavy my Squats were in StrongLifts, and I'm doing a lot better now than I did a month ago. I'm confident I can take on 5x5 with And wouldn't you know it, my gym switched back to the old scale over the weekend. Just when I've gotten used to kilograms. To top it off, I'm down a pound from Friday's weigh in. Perhaps it's time to add another shake to get past this equilibrium. Operation Hulkout: Day 734SLA, Day C, Workout 2 After four weeks of my weight fluctuating by a pound every week, I finally had some growth however small, but I think I can keep myself from getting too fat too quickly this way. I'm not surprised my legs and hips got bigger, but I'm glad my chest has kept pace, and now that I've started to work on my arms, I hope by next month there'll be some gains there as well.
Ever since my gym switched to a kilogram scale, I've had to adjust my reporting by using 2 decimal places to be more precise when converting to pounds. Operation Hulkout: Day 733 SLA, Day B, Workout 2 Three days ago I tried a new arm exercise somebody I talk to in the Musclegrowth.org forum shared with me, and my right bicep almost cramped on me after the third set since my arms were still tired from the 1-arm push-ups and Hanging leg raises I just finished. I tried again this morning with my arms in better condition, and I finished the exercise. After years of mainly doing compound movements, I thought it was high time I started doing isolation exercises again to balance out my upper body with the lower half. |
