Operation Hulkout: Day 615

Max. Str. II, Day C, Workout 4

Still not a hundred percent, but much better than last week. And I got a interesting reception this morning when a woman I was following inside the gym glanced at me over her shoulder, then just stopped and did a double-take before remarking at how much weight I've lost. I have noticed my face thinning out somewhat over the past month. Looks like I wasn't just seeing things.

Operation Hulkout: Day 614

MaxStr. II, Day B, Workout 4

I'm gonna switch to cardio for at least week while giving myself time off fr
om lifting. I might as well maximize the weight loss if I can't put on some mass.

Operation Hulkout: Day 613

MaxStr. II, Day A, Workout 4

Depending on what happens on Monday's workout, I may take a break from lifting for a few days and just do cardio. Luckily, this last week of this phase is light.

Operation Hulkout: Day 612

MaxStr. II, Day D, Workout 3

I've noticed that my strength level has slowly been declining along with the weight loss, and I'm still a few more pounds away from my goal after which my body will have to adapt to before I can work on getting stonger again.

Operation Hulkout: Day 611

MaxStr. II, Day C, Workout 3

Mr. Macho did something stupid last Saturday, and for the past few days I've been paying the price. I had hoped I would've recovered by this morning, but now I may have to give myself a few more days off after tomorrow's upper-body workout.

The Standing Zottman curl... it burnsss ussss. Nasty nasty exercise.

Operation Hulkout: Day 609

MaxStr. II, Day A, Workout 3

The heavier the load, obviously the harder it is to control, but in the case of Front squats, it's especially difficult keeping the bar from falling off if it's too forward or keeping it from choking you if it's pushed too back. I've even got red streaks around my delts and clavicle from bar bearing down on them. At least I don't have to do this again for 3 weeks.

Operation Hulkout: Day 608

MaxStr. II, Day D, Workout 2

I had a much easier time with this workout last week because of the rest day that came before from spreading out the schedule. This week, however, I stuck to the regular schedule of having Day D right after Day C, and I couldn't complete a few sets (well, not with massive cheating anyway).

On the bright side, I was surprised to see I was already halfway through Phase II. I'm definitely enjoying this program.

With the climbing chalk helping out m
y pathetic grip™, I can resume working on upping my Deadlift loads, and today I was able to do for 5 reps what I could only do once 8 weeks ago. Still, one of the trainers gave me a couple of tips on how to improve my grip since it's such a weak point of mine.

Operation Hulkout: Day 606

MaxStr. II, Day B, Workout 2

I did better today than last week now I know what the hell I'm doing and the intensity was dialed back a bit. Damn those clusters.

Operation Hulkout: Day 605

MaxStr. II, Day A, Workout 2

It's been three years since I transferred over to Gold's, which turned out to be one of the best things that's happened for my workouts mainly because I would have "outgrown" my first gym eventually, and this is something I won't be able to say the same for this one anytime soon despite it missing some equipment. Besides, it's gotten quite cozy there for me, and so I'm hoping I can get a good deal when my membership comes up for renewal this year.

Height 5'3" Dec 08
Weight 187.5 lbs. -3.5 lbs.
Chest 43" no change
Neck 15.75" -0.25"
Upper Arms (unflexed) 15.25"/15" -0.25"/-0.25"
Upper Arms (flexed) 15.75"/15.5" -0.25"/-0.375"
Forearms 11.75"/11.75" -0.25"/0.125"
Waist at navel 37" no change
Hips 42.5" -0.5"
Thighs 26"/26" +1"/+1"
Calves 15.875"/15.875" no change/no change

Although I'm a bit shocked by how much my arms shrunk, I knew there had to be a reason why I was seeing more definition from them, particularly the forearms. Well, just as long as I'm losing fat and not strength, then the size trade-off is worth it. I still need to put in some more effort to bring my weight down to 181 lbs.

Edit: Crap, I don't like how the new Windows Live Spaces embeds blog photos and puts them in a new folder rather than using the old one.
